Gerade erst aus Guatemala zurück, stößt Dr. Indiana Jones in New York auf die mysteriösen Aufzeichungen von Sir Percy Fawcett, einem verschollenen britischen Forscher. Fawcett schreibt von einer toten Stadt mitten im brasilianischen Dschungel und einem Volk, das von keltischen Druiden abstammen könnte. Und so bricht Indy an Bord der Mauretania nach Bahia auf.
Doch schon die Anreise erweist sich als nicht ganz so geruhsam wie erwartet. Höchste Zeit für Indiana Jones, den Smoking mit dem Nahkampfoutfit zu vertauschen. Denn am Amazonas lauern nicht nur Moskitos und Schlangen, sondern auch Killer und Kannibalen.

No one loves mystery or adventure more than Indiana Jones. So with his trusty bullwhip in hand and the lovely Deidre Campbell firmly in tow, he sets out for the wilds of the Amazon, but Indy has more enemies than he knows, including a bunch of hard-nosed thugs and a cannibalistic Indian tribe who are out to make him instant history. And if he survives what they throw his way, there's still the fabled city itself... where the inhabitants practice the magic of the "seven veils" and no one leaves alive!

Weiter geht’s mit dem Merlin-Plot... aber langsam wird’s unglaubwürdig (ihr werdet dann sehen, warum). Aber wenigstens macht Bantam seine Sache hier besser als bei ‘Star Wars’ (*SPOILER* Deirdre stirbt! */*)...
